Don’t Let the Door Hit Ya on the Way Out

December 30, 2016 by Kim Dalferes

I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions. It’s all about the new and improved, as if to say that everything we did this past year was old and lousy?! Hey, I get wanting a do-over, especially after 2016 which has been a doozy of a ballbuster year. However, perhaps we should focus on welcoming the New Year with a toast, a smile, and a big ‘ol let’s keep on keepin’ on. To All the Days Here and After

December 31, 2015 by Kim Dalferes

Oh, we Irish do love our toasts. We never miss an opportunity to wax poetic about the past, the here and now, and the future. Especially this week, as we welcome 2016, I’m reviewing my repertoire of go-to ditties. I thought I’d share a few of my favorites, just in case you find yourself in need of a good tribute. Irish Blessings

December 27, 2013 by Kim Dalferes

This week a beloved Aunt left this world. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday and had become a great grandmother. She will be missed. In her memory and as we turn into 2014, I wish each of you the blessings of a new year, new starts, and new opportunities. An Irish Blessing http://goo.gl/pRFmfv Happy (and safe) New Year, Kimba … [Read more...]

Therefore Be It Resolved

December 25, 2013 by Kim Dalferes

RESOLUTION WHEREAS Kimba usually dislikes New Year’s resolutions, but is willing to give it one more shot; and WHEREAS Kimba was pretty happy with how 2013 turned out and wants to hedge her bets for a stellar 2014; and WHEREAS Kimba is a Virgo, and this just seems to be a fancy way to make a to-do list; which is fine by her. http://www.morguefile.com/archive/display/734782 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this crazy southern Irish gal – also known as Kimba – hereby: Vows to … [Read more...]

Hello!

Author photo #2 in colorI hope you enjoy your time here and that you come back often. Wondering what makes me tick? This favorite quote from one of the grand dames of writing, Erma Bombeck, might help: Hook 'em with the lead. Hold 'em with laughter. Exit with a quip they won't forget. This seems to be a good overall life goal, don’t you think?

Kim Dalferes’ Latest Book…

Crazy Southern Irish Gal Two-Book Bundle

Humor writer Kimberly “Kimba” Dalferes dishes on a wide variety of topics–from days of her youth spent blissfully on the shores of Florida’s beaches to menopause and empty nests–in her nonfiction collection Crazy Southern Irish Gal Two-Book Bundle. In both titles: I Was In Love With a Short Man Once and Magic Fishing Panties, Dalferes’ crazy Southern Irish gal perspective inspires her illustrations of life’s quirky twists and turns. Together, these books offer descriptive and colorful essays on subjects such as getting a tattoo in midlife, unique uses for kitty litter, handling a rabid bat, public speaking gone wrong, and naked hot-tubbing in Vegas. Dalferes skillfully weaves what at first glance may appear to be dissimilar themes into a tapestry that invokes her life’s motto: live out loud, laugh often, and ‘occasionally’ drink tequila. Now available through Amazon Kindle.
